Rockland County and Northern New York State Excursions

An 18th-century apple orchard framed by low-slung mountains tinged blue by the day’s fading light. Snow peacefully swaddling its barn and fields. A school bus painted as green as the cornfields beyond keeps it company.  A slim road politely winding its way through fields bracketed by stone-walled fields.  New York City skyscrapers surreally stand tall but hazy in the distance. Stand on just the right hillock and you, too, can see them. Such marvels awaited me during pilgrimages to Concklin’s Orchards in Rockland County.  And further upstate I once met a yellow-painted barn in yes, East Meredith, New York.  More journeys with sites begging to be painted surely await me.
