Iowa Explorations

“Iowa’s flat, right?” “They grow potatoes there, don’t they?” Such misconceptions of friends awaited me whenever I returned for visits to my hometown outside New York City. Proving them wrong, maybe, inspired my painting journey. Portraying the fertile swells, shapes, lines, and vibrant cropland colors of Iowa —and landscapes beyond —became my bliss.
